En fait, c'est tr\u00e8s simple, <strong>le suffixe -ed ne se prononce <em>jamais<\/em> ainsi\u00a0!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Donc, si vous avez d\u00e9j\u00e0 prononc\u00e9 quelque chose comme <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-ASK-ED\"><span lang=\"en\">Ask Ed!<\/span><\/a> au lieu de <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-ASKED\"><span lang=\"en\">asked<\/span><\/a>\u2026 <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-LOOK-ED\"><span lang=\"en\">Look, Ed<\/span><\/a> au lieu de <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-LOOKED\"><span lang=\"en\">looked<\/span><\/a>\u2026 ou <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-USE-ED\"><span lang=\"en\">Use Ed<\/span><\/a> au lieu de <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-USED\"><span lang=\"en\">used<\/span><\/a>, cet article est fait pour vous !<\/p>\n<p>Cela \u00e9tant dit, il nous faut maintenant r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette question : comment se prononce -ed en anglais, normalement\u00a0?<\/p>\n<p>Cela ne fait pas toujours partie de ce qu'on nous enseigne \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole. Par exemple, les sons \u00ab V \u00bb et \u00ab F \u00bb sont produits au m\u00eame endroit de la bouche. La seule diff\u00e9rence, c'est qu'on utilise nos cordes vocales pour prononcer \u00ab V \u00bb, mais pas \u00ab F \u00bb. Pour sentir la diff\u00e9rence : placez la main sur votre gorge, prononcez ces deux sons et sentez les vibrations quand vous dites \u00ab V \u00bb et l'absence de vibration quand vous dites \u00ab F \u00bb. Bref, si vous utilisez vos cordes vocales, si elles vibrent quand vous prononcez un son, on dit qu'il est <strong>vois\u00e9<\/strong> et si vous ne les utilisez pas, que vous ne sentez pas de vibration, on parle alors d'un son <strong>non-vois\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Les sons non-vois\u00e9s ici sont donc [p k \u03b8 f s \u0283 t\u0283] et, apr\u00e8s ces sons, -ed se prononce [t] (lui-m\u00eame non-vois\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p>Quelques exemples : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-ASK\">ask<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;\u00e6sk&#47;<\/span> \u2192  <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-ASKED\">asked<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;\u00e6skt&#47;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"IPAGUIDE-HELP\">help<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;h\u025b\u026bp&#47;<\/span> \u2192  <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-HELPED\">helped<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;h\u025b\u026bpt&#47;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-STOP\">stop<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;st\u0251\u02d0p&#47;<\/span> \u2192  <a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-STOPPED\">stopped<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;st\u0251\u02d0pt&#47;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ce qui est tr\u00e8s important (et c'est une faute que beaucoup de francophones font) est que, dans ce cas pr\u00e9cis, on <strong>ne prononce pas<\/strong> le <em>-ed<\/em> comme une syllabe s\u00e9par\u00e9e\u00a0!\nC'est-\u00e0-dire que si le verbe <span lang=\"en\">ask<\/span> a une syllabe, <span lang=\"en\">asked<\/span> n'en a toujours qu'une seule, si <span lang=\"en\">dance<\/span> a une syllabe, c'est aussi le cas de <span lang=\"en\">danced<\/span>, etc. <\/p>\n<p>Les francophones ont tendance \u00e0 prononcer syst\u00e9matiquement <em>-ed<\/em> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#91;\u026ad&#93;<\/span> mais vous savez maintenant que ce n'est pas toujours le cas.\nVoici les m\u00eames verbes mais cette fois MAL prononc\u00e9s, pour mieux entendre la diff\u00e9rence : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>~<a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-ASK-ED\">asked<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;\u00e6sk\u025bd&#47;<\/span>~<\/li>\n<li>~<a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-HELP-ED\">helped<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;h\u025b\u026bp\u025bd&#47;<\/span>~<\/li>\n<li>~<a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"ED-STOP-ED\">stopped<\/a> <span lang=\"fonipa\">&#47;st\u0251\u02d0p\u025bd&#47;<\/span>~<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2\n  id=\"Prononciation_en_91d93-2\"\n\n  class=\"toc_heading not-prose\"\n  style=\"padding-left: 2rem;
