Vous pouvez m\u00e9moriser les deux phrases <span lang=\"en\">tell someone something<\/span> et <span lang=\"en\">say something to someone<\/span> pour vous aider \u00e0 vous rappeler de l'usage de chacun de ces verbes. <\/p>\n<p>On utilise <span lang=\"en\">tell<\/span> avec un compl\u00e9ment d'objet direct : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"A1-103-021\">We must tell her!<\/a> = On doit lui dire ! (aucune pr\u00e9position avant le compl\u00e9ment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Par contre, le verbe <span lang=\"en\">say<\/span> exige un compl\u00e9ment d'objet indirect introduit par la pr\u00e9position <span lang=\"en\">to<\/span> : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"A1-131-057\">Say that <strong>to<\/strong> his sister.<\/a> = Dis \u00e7a \u00e0 sa s\u0153ur. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lorsqu'on utilise <span lang=\"en\">say<\/span> on a \u00e9galement l'option de ne pas avoir d'objet, alors que ce n'est pas le cas avec <span lang=\"en\">tell<\/span> : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a lang=\"en\" data-phonograph=\"B2-024-004\">There's a lot of wisdom in what she said.<\/a> = Il y a beaucoup de sagesse dans ce qu'elle a dit. (Je ne pense pas que c'est vrai.) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rappelez-vous la r\u00e8gle de\u00a0base qui dit qu'avec le verbe <span lang=\"en\">say<\/span> on se focalise sur les mots eux-m\u00eames.
